Throwing a Party?

What better way to get your friends and family together for some good times than to throw a party? No matter what the occasion, if you have a place to have it, a party is always a lot of fun. People get to talk, catch up, and have a good time with other people that they care about. What’s not to like about that? For a party to be truly enjoyable, it is the little things that matter. Most adults enjoy wine, so you should make sure that the wine drinking experience is as enjoyable as possible.
The first thing to look at is what kind of wine you will serve. Not all wines are the same. You should have a selection of red wines, a selection of white wines, and possibly a blush or rose wine (a mixture of red and white) if you know that people enjoy those specifically. For fans of red wine, you cannot go wrong if you have a merlot and a cabernet sauvignon available. These wine types are different, and by far the two most popular red wine styles. Red wines should be served at room temperature, and should be opened early and allowed to breathe to let oxygen mix with the wine. White wine drinkers will be happy with a choice between chardonnay and Chablis. These two white wines cover the spectrum from dry to sweet, giving all white wine drinkers something to enjoy. White wine should be served chilled. It also needs a little time to breathe, but does not require as much oxidation as the red wines.
Proper glasses are important when serving wine. Red wine glasses have a wide bowl, allowing for the maximum contact between the surface of the wine and the air. Red wine requires oxidation to bring out its flavor, and the red wine glass is designed to speed this process along. White wine glasses are somewhat taller and narrower, allowing less oxidation than red wine glasses and keeping the temperature from rising too quickly. The glass really does make the wine it is designed for taste better, so make sure that you pick the right glasses for the job.
One difficulty present at every party is the ability of guests to hang on to their glass. Many times people will set the glass down, others will set their glasses down nearby, and nobody will know which is which. This usually forces everybody to get a new glass, making a bigger mess than is necessary. Wine charms help guests identify which glass is theirs. Wine charms are little accessories that attach to the stem of the wine glass and have a unique design to differentiate the glass from others. Wine charms usually come in theme packs, such as animal themes, gem themes, and even golf themes. This simple accessory will help people hang on to their glasses, keeping the dishes after the party to a minimum.
Parties are great ways to bring everybody together. Some good wine and the accessories to go with the wine can make your party even better.
